Frameline is pleased to close out 2016 with the release of two short films that stunned audiences at our annual Festival and emphasize oft-marginalized LGBTQ communities.
Alzheimer’s: A Love Story, directed by Gabe Schimmel and Monica Petruzzelli, is a moving short documentary that captures one couple’s intimate struggle with a disease that indiscriminately impacts millions of elders. The film has garnered both audience and juried awards and screened at over 50 film festivals internationally. Vicky Du’s Gaysians is an exploration of family, immigration and language through the voices of five queer and trans Asian-Americans from New York City. An illuminating patchwork documentary, Gaysians packs a punch in its short run time, amplifying the voices of a diverse swath of the LGBTQ Asian-American community.
