With its upcoming docuseries, Apple TV+ hopes to spark a conversation about the course of the LGBTQ+ movement in America. 'Visible: Out on Television' is a series exploring themes of visibility and coming out on the television industry. Featuring exclusive interviews with some of the most popular names on television, the five-part Apple TV+ series will be out on February 14, 2020. Here is everything you need to know about the show.
According to the official synopsis of the show, "'Visible: Out on Television' investigates the importance of TV as an intimate medium that has shaped the American conscience, and how the LGBTQ movement has shaped television." The series puts together archival footage with interviews of key players from the movement and the screen and is narrated by Janet Mock, Margaret Cho, Asia Kate Dillon, Neil Patrick Harris and Lena Waithe. Each of the hour-long episodes will explore themes of the evolution of the LGBTQ character, invisibility, homophobia and coming out on television.
