From H.P. Mendoza, writer, composer and star of Colma: The Musical (Frameline30), comes the infectious and charming San Francisco songfest, Fruit Fly, a smash hit in March at The San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival. Bethesda (the lovely L.A. Renigen) is a Filipina performance artist who arrives in the city and moves into a Mission District artists’ commune. There, she is welcomed into a world of colorful characters.

Karen and Sharon, an actress and artist, try to make their passionate relationship work. Windham, a flirtatious and adorable gay set designer is looking for love, or at least a good time. And Jacob, a teen runaway, is striving to find his true voice. Bethesda, herself on an ever-evolving journey to find her biological parents, begins a new quest to realize the meaning of home and, hopefully, to find herself in the process. Before that, she must confront other hard truths about how she fits in to the world around her. Could it be true? Could she be a… fag hag?!
