Celebrate youth and elders in this collection of shorts, including three films from this year’s Frameline Generations Filmmaker Workshop.

Teens interview gay elders about their experiences growing up in the 1950s and how they created, formed and nurtured a gay community in a time when gay lives were underground and hidden. Youth living in Toronto, who are also labeled as having intellectual disabilities, come together to shatter stereotypes and talk openly about sex, relationships, battling stigma and coming out. Students from the University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire taped their experiences at the 40th annual Pride events held in San Francisco, CA. Another documentary profiles the extraordinary relationship of Johnny and Lyman, two men who have never parted since they met on VJ Day and who have lived together through tremendous social change. When their differences are pushed to the extreme, two students face the consequences, and a youth irked by the presence of an old man is forced to come to terms with his own perceptions. Cap it all off with a look at gay men, drag queens, and transgender people in San Francisco’s Tenderloin in the 60s and 70s.
