We're excited to keep you in the loop on all things Frameline (with no spam - ever!)
Recipient of Frameline38’s First Feature Award for Something Must Break, Ester Martin Bergsmark returns with a surreal, comical, and transgressive triptych of tales surrounding consumption, gluttony, and gender. Bergsmark’s three interwoven strands include a glossy corporate infomercial celebrating the unsettling production of gelatin, and two parallel stories of girls exploring the thin boundaries between the grotesque and delectable, love and hate, attraction and repulsion. Performance artists Eva Johansson and Louise Löwenberg portray eerily close cousins who find their rehearsal of a notorious Tarzan & Jane routine, special requested by one of their fathers for his birthday, going awry thanks to a vodka-filled watermelon.
Strings of dark, perverse, bizarre, hilarious, and unusual fantasies run through this quartet of bold visions from across the globe, featuring the latest provocative shorts from Frameline alums Ester Martin Bergsmark and Yann Gonzalez.
