The potent words of author and activist George M. Johnson’s “memoir/manifesto” All Boys Aren't Blue are feverishly brought to life in this dramatic adaptation by Nathan Hale Williams. Following an intro voiced by the mother of Black Hollywood herself, Jenifer Lewis, actors Dyllón Burnside (Pose), Bernard David Jones (Crown Vic), and Thomas Hobson (12 Hour Shift) each play the non-binary writer at different chapters in their life in this exploration of Blackness, queerness, gender, and how they all fit together.
Frameline is happy to present a double feature of two films exploring the Black queer experience in America.
