Founded in 1977, Frameline, the San Francisco International LGBTQ+ Film Festival, is the longest-running, largest, and most widely recognized LGBTQ+ film exhibition event in the world. As a community event with an annual attendance of 63,000 (89,000 virtual attendance in 2020), the Festival is the most prominent and well-attended LGBTQ+ arts program in the Bay Area.

2020 showed that no matter what is thrown at us, we'll continue to share LGBTQ+ stories at a professional and entertaining new level. Prepare for our highest attendance numbers ever in 2021!

Frameline45 is a competitive film festival with cash prizes attached to each of our Audience Awards for Best Feature, Best Documentary, and Best Short. Frameline45 will also have two juried awards for First Feature and Outstanding Documentary Feature.
